Dinner at Hangawi: Vegetarian Korean

As I was walking home from work last night, the boyfriend suggested we meet at Hangawi for dinner. We hadn’t been since last summer for delicious vegetarian Korean food.

As soon as you walk in, there’s a place to leave your shoes; the seats are floor level and have space for your legs beneath. Bonus? The floors are heated! My bare feet appreciated it!

We started with amazing sesame leaf tofu patties – minced oyster mushrooms and tofu wrapped in sesame leaves.

I had the pumpkin porridge, which was thick and fresh tasting, and the boyfriend had the steamed vegetarian dumplings.

For my main course, I had the avocado stone bowl with rice (avocado, vegetables, tofu, and rice with miso sauce) served in a sizzling hot stone bowl. I am obsessed with avocado, and this did not disappoint. Everything tasted fresh and light, even though I was eating a rice bowl.

The boyfriend had the kimchi stone bowl with rice (spicy Korean cabbage with vegetables).
